BD R - BD

BD R--
is the designation for a Blu-ray disc that is Recordable. This is the ideal
format for archiving important data or storing and transferring
video information. This is because a
BD R
disc can be recorded no
more than one time.
BR
RE--This designation denotes a disc that can be rewritten EXTENSIVELY. This format offers
advanced editing functionality.
It is also an excellent choice for making sequential backups, or making videos
for time shifting purposes.
BD
ROM--This is a Read Only Memory disc or Movie Disc. The pre-recorded information on this
type of Blu-ray disc is most generally a movie for playback on a high definition
Blu-ray player but it may also contain other prerecorded data.
CD-- Compact
Disc
First generation optical media. This information storage medium was first
introduced in the early 1980's. It has limited storage capacity of generally no
more than 700 Megabytes. It is used for music and other forms of file storage
including low resolution video files or compact movie formats.
CD is compatible
with most all modern Blu-ray players.
